Very sweet book about Pablo Picasso and his dachshund, Lumpito. Love the art and story. Read to 1st grade class and they loved the story. Like the description says, can be read to students K-3. Asking questions throughout the book to engage students helps and encourages critical thinking. This makes the story more interactive and can help with older grades.

Beautiful illustrations and lovely story. Strongly recommend!

Love it!!!
One of my new favorites
Arrived on time and as advertised
Lumpito was a really beautifully illustrated book about Lumpito and Picasso. I loved the story's moral that the family you are with isn't always the family you are meant to stay with (like the movie Matilda; great for kids not with their biological families or even kids in abusive homes looking for the emotional support to get out). What prevented me from rating it five stars were the following issues

1) The last page had nothing to do with the story. It felt like it was there to fulfill a page requirement. The information was interesting, though, so there is that.
2) Why did Big Dog not have a name? He was the bully and the bane of Lump's existence and he didn't have a name. And apparently his owner didn't care enough to stop the abuse. Rude.
3) The summation on the inner flap and the back of the book were poor summations of the story and gave poor expectations as to the tone, plot line, and POV.
4) Some of the writing came off as a bit too awkward.
Cute and different. Interesting to know that about Picasso. Good way to begin to introduce young children to art and artists.
Precious book about Lump, the dachsie who lived with Picasso!
Lumpito was a real dog that took up with one of the world's greatest artists. Tells the story of how a little dog visited Picasso with its owner and refused to leave. Also shows how Picasso included Lumpito's image in several of his works. Kids will love this. Highly recommended by this art teacher for use in a unit on Picasso.
